Gone to the Lakes....

... will be back shortly!

What have I been up to?

Well, I've been over to the Lakes quite a lot to get some sanity from this mad world, sleeping out on the fells and doing some running with some great people. Did the Patterdale Boundary the other week which was great - Glencoyne, Stybarrow Dodd, Raise, Helvellyn, Seat Sandal, Fairfield, Dove Crag, Scandale Pass, Red Screes, Kirkstone, High Street, Angle Tarn, Place Fell and back to Patterdale. 8hrs 8mins.

Having fun painting at Lanty's Tarn, Ullswater

Just some idea of what I get up to - yes, I do really do some paintings sometime!

An exploration map

I saw this at the Scott Polar Research Institute (Cambridge). It's from an Antarctic trip (can't remember which one) but thought that the way they had mapped the land was great. Pencil and paper - none of this digital imaging stuff of today.

Would like to something of the sort on one of my trips of exploration.

I should really tell you about my latest adventures...

... sometimes it is nice to keep things to myself.

And sometimes nice to share experiences. I think that there is too much sharing of experiences sometimes. Have we lost the joy of having memories to ourselves, or do we have to publicise everything that brings a smile to our faces?

Lake District May Bank Holiday walks

Just back from a great weekend in the Lake District - up Fairfield on Saturday and then Dungeon Ghyll on Sunday and stopped off at Alston on Sunday night, so walked there on Monday in glorious sun. Inspirational!
